Designed to help plant-parents taking care of their indoor plants.
There are many plant-parents who live in the city and grow their plants at home or office. They don’t have the time or they forget to water and take care after their plants. Most of them do not have the sufficient knowledge to treat their plants as should.
Design a digital experience combined with an IOT device that measures the plants' soil conditions and local climate. After setting up each plant with its own sensor using the app, the user will start receiving watering notifications and treatment guidance for each plant.
'Sense' is a plant-pot sensor. It constantly collects metrics from the environment and soil like nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium levels as well as temperature and light. Based on a cloud system, the app collects the relevant data to direct the user how and when to treat the plant.
The plant addition wizard is the interfaces's starting point. It enables the user to get familiar with the UI and start using the app. The goal here was to design an experience that is friendly and easy.
Notifications is one of the key features of the app. It enables a direct communication with the user whenever an action is needed. When its time to water or fertilise the plant, the app will pop a notification using the native device OS flow.
Divided into rooms category, the app displays all plants added by the user. Each plant has its own profile with an overview including care instructions and metrics.
Plant-parenting is not for granted — it demands patience, knowledge and empathy. Planterra is all about make it easier for people to take care of their plants, relying on technology and innovation.
